Sasha Dejanstahl Voban is one of the Campione and currently the oldest of the seven. He is a major antagonist in the series.
Appearance[]
Voban has the appearance of a man in his later years with silver hair, emerald-colored eyes, wearing a grey business suit with a white shirt and black tie under, and high-collared grey long coat. He's in extremely good health has the air of a predator around him.
In Shiniki no Campione, Voban has a look of a young caucasian man in his twenties. His silver hair is trimmed shortly and bristled around the back of his head. He wears a dark business suit with a long, thin black coat over it.
Personality[]
Voban is a very cold man who cares nothing for others, only desiring to battle worthy opponents (such as Heretic Gods and other campiones) and gain more Authorities. He is willing to kill anyone who gets in his way. This could be attributed to his life as a vagabond. Being an orphan left him with no loved ones, by adulthood he became a recluse. Since his life was that of a poor orphan, he continued to starve, looking for his next meal. This resulted in his habit of stuffing his face with quantities of food and drink, but he never truly tasting them. And his time as a crook references that as a hunter with a pack of wolves, as seen with his Authority. As he has stated to others he prefers wolves to sheep, meaning he'd want his undead subordinates loyal, but silently barring their fangs at him, not mindless yes men. It is debatable, but the fact that he was a starved orphan, could be the reason for his solitude, as unlike the other six he doesn't rule groups, or interact normally, but demands through on whim. Also his reliance over his second authority is because he can't bond with others and figure serving dead is better as they will stay and hate him forever while he's alone. To others, he hides his bloodlust through a facade of his own intelligence, although this doesn't mean he's not cunning, as he quickly deduces the conditions needed for Godou's Authorities. Voban is also wise in that he let Godou go after seeing Yuri stubborn to the danger, and admits that he is old and enjoyed the game hunt with them. He also shows respect and honor when Godou and Yuri fought him, and amusement at the young, like how Liliana defected and Godou's actions reminded him of his own. But with respect is also contempt, as he told Godou to grow stronger so that the two can go all out and that Voban will be aiming for his jugular when he comes back to fight him.
Later on, it is revealed that like Aisha his seclusion also involves travel, meaning he stay from place to place at home using his campione right as he still has living servant attending him. As a hunter, it could be akin to marking territory as well as finding safe houses for undesirables like Madam Aisha.
He also seems to show great distaste for the third campione as even he knows she troublesome and apathetically allows in because she's trouble, she had information on prey, and she a pain.
Even though Liliana claims that he has no hobbies, the author reveal that Voban is an active sportsman. He's an avid boxer and regulary trained by hitting a punching bag. He also ride a custom build road bike at his leisure. It seems that despite his cruel and inhumane personality, Voban's still capable of enjoying some normal human activities.
History[]
Born in the first half of the eighteenth century in the area of modern Hungary, he probably didn't have a single relative since birth. He lived his life by moving from place to place for ten years, struggling daily just to survive, until one day he killed a Heretic God in his mid teens, becoming a Campione. A few years later, he attacked the castle of the marquis and usurped his status and dominion, but grew tired of it a few years later and abandoned it, though he is still even now referred to as Marquis. Knowing that the previous marquis kept a pet dog, he picked it as his own family name. Then he ordered the former marquis to serve his relative the former pet dog.
These dogs name are 'Dejan', 'Sthal' and 'Voban'. Combining into 'Dejanstahl Voban'.
In 1854, he used his authority Sturm und Drang to drive the Dalmatian port city Zadar to the brink of destruction. Some researchers believe that, over the course of many years, the memory of this tragedy had an influence on the folktale of "The Three Little Pigs."

He has enough power to activate his authority at its maximum power for four days straight and still have enough energy to use one of his more energy consuming authorities without breaking a sweat.
Immense magic resistance: Voban's possess an extremely strong magic resistance. His defense is nigh-impregnable with human magic and authority will find its power reduced to a certain percentage. The only way for the magic to be effective is through his respiratory system or oral transfusion.
Immense Vitality: Voban possesses an extremely strong vigor and life force on the contrary to his older appearance. He's capable of being active in an extremely long battle without showing any signs of fatigue. He's also the most resilient in terms of surviving out of all of seven godslayers. By the time of Shiniki no Campiones, he has regained his youth from the reincarnation ceremony and now possess even more vitality and energy than ever before.
Immense pain tolerance: Voban's body is capable of releasing a hundreds of time more adrenaline than normal human. Even if his bones are broken or his organs ripped, he can ignore the pain and continue his battle. He pushes through an unbearable pain when he's grazed by Doni's cursed sword.
Superhuman Stamina: Despite his older appearance, Voban is extremely tough and capable of keeping up with his younger peers. When he regained his younger body, he becomes even more powerful than his aged self and can fight for days without breaks.
Superhuman Durability: Godslayer's bones are tougher than any kind of steel on earth. He's many times tougher than normal human.
Night vision: Voban eyes can see in the dark better than any nocturnal beasts.
Instinct: Alongside Godou, Voban's instinct is described to be one of the sharpest out of the godslayers from this generation.
Indominable will: Voban is extremely stubborn and will do anything to get what he wants. He's also extremely patient since he endured and keep his soul active for several years after being mutilated by Lancelot's lance.
As the oldest godslayers, Voban possess the most authorities out of the original seven. Unlike Doni or Luo Hao, Voban fights like a general commanding his soldier rather than a physical brawler. He's also excelling at psychological warfare using his dead warriors and mystic eyes. The majority of his authorities follow the theme of 'group battle'. Because Voban doesn't view battle as a one-on-one fight. Since, he's born in 18th centuries, Voban spends majority of his younger days as a soilder, a captain and a general. These experiences greatly influence a manifiestation of his authority.
After Devil King Civil War, Voban was gravely injured both physically and spiritually. It caused him to lose some of his authorities while trying to ressurect himself. However, his younger body proves to be an equal trade-off as his battle performance has improved greatly.

Trivia[]
- Voban is called a Marquis, (Duke in the anime) but has no legitimate claim to the title.
- It's likely that "Marquis" is more of a nickname, developed over the course of Voban's many years of mischief as a Campoine.
- It's possible that Voban's ability to turn into a wolf-man is him Manifesting an Avatar.
- Voban's seiyuu: Unshō Ishizuka, passed away on August 13, 2018 from esophageal cancer.
- In the anime, it is unknown why Liliana served Voban, unlike the light novel, since there the reason was because as the news of Godou as Campione and Erica having the "favor" of him made Erica's association surpass Liliana's in power, so Liliana's grandfather made his granddaughter serve Voban to balance the power. But in the anime taking into account the fact that Liliana already served Voban before Godou became Campione, it is unknown why she served him, possibly Erica's association could somehow surpass Liliana's, despite of it, the reason is unknown anyway.
- However, in episode 7, Liliana, while fighting with Erica, reveals the reasons and they were the same as in the light novel, but this would be more of a plot hole, since as already said Liliana already served Voban before Godou became Campione and Erica his later lover, this was seen in episode 1, in a scene Voban was seen with Liliana before the aforementioned event.
- It is possible that Voban's [Blade Gordian] Authority was taken from a heretic Alexander the Great who in Greek legend cut the Gordian knot with his sword.
- Alternatively the slain deity might have taken said legend into itself and possessed another identity entirely.
